This is a gem in the center of Udaipur, within walking distance of the City Palace and on a little street with traditional jewelers. It is an exquisitely renovated traditional noble house, and the food and service were truly outstanding. The manager, Mr. Singh, was very friendly and went out of his way to take care of us well. His English is better than he thinks! Our room was traditionally decorated and so so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The hotel has lovely terraces and nooks with rooftop views, and a wonderful open air restaurant at the top. The hotel is not accessible by car because of the narrow streets; you will need to transfer from your car to a tuk tuk (auto rickshaw).

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely relaxing stay. We found Udaipur quite busy so this was the perfect retreat for us to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved lounging on the roof terrace and listening to the distant sound of the streets below. The food was so delicious, some of the best we’d eaten in India and the servers were attentive to our requests. The breakfast was amazing! We enjoyed the delicious pancakes and poha. The building is really beautiful and we had an excellent stay. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful Haveli in the old town of Udaipur. The rooms are all themed and ours was very luxurious and nicely decorated. The food and the views at the restaurant are great and the hotel goes out of the way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. There can be some noise from the street and the building but that's part of the India experience.

My mother and I stayed here during our trip to Udaipur. The staff, specifically Nerandra were so helpful and kind. The rooms were very spacious and clean, and had all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. The location is close to so many sites of Udaipur and is easy to get around from. The rooftop is a beautiful place to sit and eat. We enjoyed staying in a unique Haveli :) Thank you !

The rooftop restaurant is very good too. For the hotel just make sure to take earplugs with you since the old town is very lively/loud. Most taxis can’t drive in the old town will drop you 500meters away from the Haveli you can either walk or take a rickshaw.

Visiting was a remarkable experience! The stunning architecture, intricately designed interiors, and serene ambiance truly capture the essence of Rajasthani heritage. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, ensuring our comfort throughout the visit. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting the area – a perfect place to immerse yourself in Rajasthan’s rich culture and charm. I can’t wait to visit again!

the haveli is like a alternate universe in the middle of old town Udaipur - it is lovingly restored while still feeling real. there are alot of details to love in the property and in the room. the resturant at the roof top are nice and casual - I learn too late that there are some rajasthanian special dishes that one can order ahead - next time. it is very much like a home stay rather than a posh Haveli. that is something that we found more endearing. The bed is comfortable and clean, the water is hot and nice in shower.

Great location, in walking distance to all the main attractions. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive, arranging taxis, tuk tuks, airport transfer, restaurant bookings. The property was old and historic with lots of character. The restaurant was excellent and very good value. Indeed we ate out at the Leela Palace (fine dining) and whilst the Leela Palace’s Sheesh Mahal’s food was excellent, it was also very expensive. I actually thought the food at the Haveli’s restaurant was nicer (and a lot cheaper). I would definitely recommend trying the restaurant if you’re staying here. You can also get a beer or glass of wine with dinner.

The location is within walking distance to Lake Pichola. The room was appropriate for a short visit in the heart of everything. The bathroom was a good size, with tub and shower accommodations. The staff was very helpful and went overboard to make us feel welcomed.

The heritage rooms were designed beautifully with a rustic charm. What made our stay memorable was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Special mention to Narendra ji who was on toes for any of our requirements and also helped my husband plan a beautiful setup for our anniversary. We are very grateful for that.

My partner and I stayed for just one night here in February. I so wish we could have stayed for at least three nights - the place is magical! I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere so old. Our room was amazing. The room was large, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was huge. It was quite quaint locking the door with a camel padlock - fun!

I stayed at kaladwas lal haveli for 3 nights in October and the experience was just beyond amazing. The haveli itself is so beautifully preserved, and feels very luxurious. It’s in the busy part of the city but as soon as you walk in it feels so peaceful. So much attention to detail has been paid to the rooms, and the rooftop terrace/restaurant has such a good breakfast (included) and was probably our most luxurious despite staying in a 5 star hotel later. One of the staff Narendra is what made this hotel stand out for me. He is so kind and willing to accommodate any request. There was one time we were craving gulab jaamun and he even took us to the best mithai shop in town. He made the place feel like home! 10/10 I would recommend this hotel to anyone

We spent 7 wonderful days in this haveli whose glowing comments we had read. We have seen that they are in line with reality. Kaladwas Lal Haveli is a great place to stay in Old City. You can visit all the main attractions of the city on foot: City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Bagore Ki Haveli Museum, Ambrai Ghat, etc... The hotel is intimate (7 different rooms), recently restored with taste and attention to detail. The view from the Roof Top restaurant is magical (the Clock Tower is a few dozen meters away and ke Jagdish Temple 200 m). Staff are also to be commended and contribute to the quality of service. The cuisine is excellent and much more original and tasty than most restaurants in the area.
